I was tempted never to update this blog again, and just leave the fantastic experiences of Capel Curig at the top of the page (I’ve spent all evening trying to download and add the photos but I don’t think I’m going to succeed), but life goes on I suppose!
After having Monday off to recover from the weekend, how much did I not want to go to work today?! My heart just isn’t in it at the moment, and now I’ve had a taste of success in the hills all I want is more of that. So it was harder than it’s been for a while to drag myself into work, only to find that all our systems were down anyway so there was not much work going on.
On the way home I was behind a car that managed to knock a motorcyclist off his bike, so I stopped and offerred what help I could. Luckily the motorcyclist was fine, but as I got out of the car the woman driving the people carrier that hit him was already in a flap. A whole queue of other cars saw it happen and not one of them stopped to offer help. I guess people are too wrapped up in their own worlds these days. Anyway, it turned out the rider lived round the corner from me so I followed him home to his door. The scariest bit for me was having to occupy the woman’s three very young children while she swapped details with the motorcyclist – I’ve never willed a child not to cry so much in my life.
As Jon Amor would say, tomorrow is shaping up to be a Hard Hat Day with various things going on, so I’m hoping I can squeeze in a brisk walk along the paths through the fields behind our house between finishing work and going to a Guide meeting.
And there’s snow forecast for Thursday!!
